This news article from “The Standard” explains how the NICC is using a modified HyFlex approach to support EMT students spread out in a large region who have difficulty trying to attend all class sessions in person. Some “lab” experiences are still required in person, but the flexible nature of their program allows them to be more accessible to participants. This is especially critical in a program that has to increase the number of graduates and reduce the barriers to completion as much as possible.
